BROKEN ARROW, Okla. -- A broken gas line caused traffic to be slowed near a Broken Arrow school Tuesday afternoon.
According to officials, a contractor hit a gas line Tuesday while making repairs to a water line near Broken Arrow's Freshman Academy.
Utility companies were immediately notified, according to a press release, and gas was shut off.
OG&E and local fire officials say the school is safe to occupy. School officials say parents are being notified and may be rerouted for student pick-up.
Parents are encouraged to be aware of possible detours as they pick up students.
