BROKEN ARROW, Okla. -- Broken Arrow police said a suspect has been arrested in an hours-long standoff on Thursday.
Police said Joey Brashears has been charged with kidnapping, aggravated assault and battery domestic and interfering with an emergency call and resisting arrest.
On Wednesday, officials said at 10:30 a.m., officers responded to a welfare check in reference to a 911 hang-up call in the 500 block of West Detroit Street.
Officers heard a woman yelling and were met by the woman, who was in her 40's, outside the home. She told officers that she had been kidnapped by a man she had been dating and had fought her way out of the home.
Officials said there is smoke coming from the roof of the house.
