Broken Arrow police say they are investigating a homicide on Friday.
Officers say they were called to a welfare check to the 1100 block of North Hickory Place and found a man dead about 1:45 p.m.
They say when they arrived, the dead man's 18-year-old son was at the residence and initially would not let police inside, a spokesperson says.
The son has been taken into custody and is being questioned.
"We’ve heard some commotion from over at the house a couple of times real late at night," neighbor Whitney Martin said. "I know that they have a teenager over there. He would be outside on the phone just screaming."
This is the third homicide in BA this year.
"It’s pretty quiet as you can see," Martin said. "I know there’s some families, but for the most part, it’s older people that are fairly quiet."
Neighbor Ronald ZBaughman added, "This does not happen in our neighborhood at all. This is so new and so strange this is a very peaceful neighborhood."
Another neighbor told us she would hear the teen screaming murder threats late in the night, which startled the neighbors so much that they called police to investigate.
Broken Arrow police expect to give an update on the investigation Saturday.
