BROKEN ARROW, Okla. — Broken Arrow is hosting a sold-out boxing fight that's airing on Showtime.
Oklahoma native and undefeated boxer, Trey Lippe Morrison, is fighting in Friday's much-anticipated event, Rumble in the Rose District.
The fights will feature international boxers and will be broadcast on Showtime's boxing series: "ShoBox: The New Generation" starting at 9 p.m. CT/10 p.m. ET.
Organizers said the event sold out at about 1,000 tickets. Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce expects a larger crowd to visit the Rose District area.
Many restaurant owners are preparing to see more business than usual, such as The Rooftop. The VIP after-party will be held in the local restaurant.
"When things like this happen it boosts the economy in that area so our servers and our kitchen staff we've had to completely bring in all our staff for that night just so we are ready," said Matt Vasquez, general manager of The Rooftop.
Due to the forecasted rain, the venue will now take place indoors at the Central Park Community Center. Doors open at 6 p.m.
