Brittany Hamilton is named Union Public School District's Teacher of the Year.
Hamilton is a third grade teacher at Rosa Parks Elementary.
She was honored Wednesday during the annual Teacher of the Year reception.
Hamilton says she became a teacher, because of the examples set by her mom and grandpa.
