TULSA, Okla. — According to Superintendent Deborah Gist, Principle Dr. Melissa Woolridge will be excusing student absences due to Booker T. Washington High School being treated for bed bugs.

The measure is to appease parents who are still concerned about bed bugs being brought home, but Superintendent Gist says there is nothing to be concerned about.

“We have a 250,000 square foot facility and as of this morning one additional bed bug was found so we have six," Superintendent Gist. "A total of six, that's a total of six total bed bugs that is not an infestation. That's not even a significant introduction, we have an over abundance of caution and have done a massive treatment, just so everyone feels more comfortable.”
