A star Booker T. Washington High School swimmer is making a difference ahead of a big competition this weekend.

Duncan Hughes says it's a tradition to shave your head before swimming in the state championship. His hair is pretty long -- and he'll shave it off once he raises $5,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

All the money he raises will help make a dream come true for a child with a life-threatening condition.

“I found a donor who said they would match what I raise, so if I raise 5k which is my goal, I can fund an entire wish for Make-A-Wish Oklahoma,” he said.

Every time he meets a certain amount, he cuts off a little more hair.

He's nearly met his goal – and if you want to help, you can donate by clicking here.
