TULSA - A shocking discovery Sunday as a body was found just north of Woodland Hills Mall.

Police were called out to the Burning Tree neighborhood about 5 p.m.

They say kids on a trail that runs near this stormwater drain found a man lying face down in the water.

Within minutes, several officers were on the scene and were able to determine that the man, only described as 22 years old, was dead.

Once medical examiners arrived, that's when they moved the body.

Nearby residents say they're stunned by the discovery.

“That's what's so sad is that we don't know who he is or what has happened to him. I mean, who knows? We may know him... yeah it's very sad,” said neighbor Sandy Forrest.

Now police are trying to determine whether this death is suspicious or not.

During the initial investigation, officers picked up a can of air duster that was found a few feet away from the man in the stormwater drain.

They later found another as well.

Police say there's no way to determine the role of these items in the man's death. They say it's nearly impossible to rule out any factor right now.

But thanks to neighbors, officers aren't left completely in the dark.

“We'd have several people come by and give us what information that they can,” said Tulsa Police Sgt. M.A. Watson. “We have identified the young man, we just haven't notified next of kin yet so that's what we're going to do next.”

The body has been sent to the medical examiner's office. there they will determine exactly how the man died.

If foul play is confirmed in this death, investigators say they'll immediately start looking for suspects.
