TULSA — A 55-year-old man has died after a vehicle was submerged in east Tulsa floods on Tuesday night.

Tulsa Fire Department crews searched a five-mile area for the vehicle around 8 p.m. on Tuesday, but said the water in the area where the vehicle was, near Highway 169 and the BA Expressway, was about 15 to 20 feet deep. The vehicle was found near Roy Clark Elementary, in the area of 3656 South 103rd East Avenue.

Officials said there was one person inside the vehicle, which was found on Wednesday morning by Tulsa police officers after a citizen spotted it. The victim was identified as Hiep Tran.

Crews are working Wednesday morning to recover the Toyota Camry that was found.
