Blue Bell Creameries is recalling two of its ice cream flavors due to a potential concern for listeria.

Two flavors produced at the Alabama plant, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Cookie Two Step, are being voluntarily recalled due to the risk of listeria in one of the chocolate chip cookie dough ingredients supplied by third party supplier Aspen Hills.

Customers can identify the products with the code date found on the bottom of the carton. See code dates that are being recalled below.

Blue Bell says that while their products passed the test and hold program, it issued the recall after Aspen Hills notified them of the potential risk. Blue Bell Ice Cream company says anyone who purchased these products can return them for a full refund and are encouraged to not eat the product.

The products produced with the chocolate chip cookie dough pieces were distributed in the following ten states Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.
