Today for Black History Month, we celebrate historian, educator and author Eddie Faye Gates.
Gates was instrumental in implementing multicultural education in the Tulsa high schools when she became a social studies curriculum coordinator for the district in 1968. She taught in the district for 22 years.
After retiring, she authored two books and worked as an activist for descendants of the Tulsa Race Massacre and the Jewish community.
