Tonight in black history, we celebrate Barney Cleaver. He was the first African American policeman in Tulsa.
He started working for the Tulsa Police Department in 1907.
Cleaver was known as a pioneer in the department who pushed to serve the community despite the segregation law that was still intact during the time.
