The first year of the Vintage Down South festival is underway and dozens of vendors from all over the country are gathered in Bixby to share their passion of antiques.

Kelli Baker and Dustin Jaggers came up with the plan to create the two-day festival and organized the event hoping to attract a good mix of antique shoppers and concert goers.

“When we first started this we wanted to make sure ours was different and reflected who we are and what we like. That's kind of where the music came into play,” Jaggers said.

The musical line up includes “American Idol” contestant Jake Dillon, Tulsa musician Cole Lynch, Western Folk band Bandelier, and Chelsea Gann from NBC's “The Voice”.

The festival is also holding an auction to raise money for the Liberty Mounds School District and youth sports team. Baker, a former teacher at Liberty Mounds Elementary, says utilizing the event as a chance to give back was a major part of the planning when creating the event.

“We knew we'd have an attentive audience and we knew this was our one opportunity to raise as much money as possible to be able to provide those new computers for Liberty Elementary school,” Baker said.
