A Bixby math teacher's rhymes could get him national recognition.

Simon MacFarlane, a teacher at Bixby Middle School, created a parody video called "Nice Nice Functions" inspired by the popular Vanilla Ice song "Ice Ice Baby", but it's about teaching math.

Now, MacFarlane's entered it in a competition with the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics.

He says the students love it when it's time for that lesson.

"The kids love it. I set up a big sound system. I get out a mixing table. I get a hat on sideways, and for the day, I'm DJ Mac," MacFarlane said.
