BIXBY, Okla. — A Bixby High School teacher was suspended on Tuesday, Aug. 25 for a report of inappropriate conduct.
Once Bixby school officials learned of the allegations, law enforcement was immediately notified for the investigation.
According to officials, the employee, Jason Byrd, was arrested by Lighthorse police and booked at the Okmulgee County Jail.
Jason Byrd has been a math teacher with BHS since August 2008.
Bixby officials state, "While privacy laws restrict information the district is able to provide relative to any ongoing employee investigation, the district values the trust and confidence our community and families have placed in us. If allegations of wrongdoing are verified, we will act quickly and decisively to address these issues in accordance with Bixby Board of Education policy and Oklahoma statutes."
