Bill would raise gratuity minimum wage

A new bill could raise minimum wage for wait staff across the state to more than four times its current amount.

The house bill by Representative Daniel Pae would raise gratuity minimum wages from $2 an hour $8.65 an hour.

It would also prevent employers from forcing employees to split tips, meaning every employee would keep the gratuities they earned.

Pae says his bill would pay apprentices and interns working 10 hours or more a week.
