In tonight's Project Safe Schools, a state lawmaker is trying to keep counselors from getting pulled away from their job.
Senator Mary Boren filed a bill to prevent counselors from having to help with required testing.
Boren says counselors play a critical role in helping students with substance abuse, bullying and other trauma, and the work they do can't be filled by other staff.
