A bill has been filed that would bring Oklahoma's tobacco laws in line with the new federal law raising the minimum age to buy tobacco products.

Last month, Congress passed a law prohibiting the sale of cigarettes, e-cigarettes, and cigars to anyone under the age of 21.

Right now, Oklahoma law's minimum age to buy tobacco products is 18.

Under Senate Bill 1423, the age would be raised to 21 to match the federal law.
