Bill aims to help catch drivers who pass stopped school buses

Posted

A new tool is being used to catch drivers speeding past stopped school buses.

A bill now heading to the governor's desk, would allow districts to install stop-arm cameras.

As we first reported, they're already in use at Sand Springs.

Anytime the flashing red stop sign comes out, they start recording both directions.

If a driver is caught going around a bus, the fine would be at least $100.
