TULSA -- The city of Tulsa took home the gold this week at a drinking water contest in Midwest City.
Tulsa defeated Oklahoma City, Edmond, Chickasha, Ada, Midwest City, Del City and Nichols Hills in the competition, which was held at Rose State College.
Water samples for each city were graded on a 1 to 10 scale.
“I am proud of our Water and Sewer Department for winning this award,” said Mayor G.T. Bynum. “Director Clayton Edwards and his team deserve this recognition for their excellent, continuous work to provide high quality and good tasting water to Tulsa water customers day and night – whenever they turn on the faucet.”
Tulsa will now travel to a regional water conference in Branson next year.
