TULSA, Okla. — Berryhill High School is moving towards nine weeks of distance learning, according to a statement released by Berryhill Public Schools.
In a letter, Principal James C. Fox said the high school was originally moving to distance learning for two weeks, but had several students and staff members test positive for COVID-19. Due to the positive results, more individuals had to be placed in quarantine.
"After close consultation with the Tulsa Health Department, it has been decided that Berryhill High School will continue with distance learning through the end of the 1st 9 weeks," Fox said. "While this is a terribly difficult decision, we feel this is the best and safest way to preserve & sustain an educational standard, while allowing extra-& co-curricular activities to continue."
Fox said extracurricular activities will be allowed again starting Sept. 12.
