Concert raises money for OSU crash victim

Posted

A group called Tulsa Divas are trying to help make the holiday season a bit easier for Alleyn Campbell and his family.

They're hosting a benefit concert from 1 until 8 p.m. Sunday at the Venue Shrine in Downtown Tulsa. The show costs $5 at the door, with a raffle and auction inside the venue. You must be 21 years of age or older to get inside.

Campbell was injured back on October 24 during the crash at the OSU Homecoming parade. He is the young boy Pistol Pete picked up and took to the hospital.

Campbell's mother Collett said her son suffered a bruised right leg, injuries to his right shoulder, a concussion and also a broken femur in his left leg.

The broken bone is causing the most problems as it is hitting his growth plate.

Now facing large piles of medical bills which total more than $20,000, Tulsa Divas are trying to raise money to help out the family. The medical bills are expected to grow as the 12-year-old begins physical therapy Monday.

Despite still having his leg in a cast and needing to use a wheelchair, Campbell said he is doing much better. He is back at school, performing with his school band and ready to begin physical therapy.
