BAPD: Woman pulled from van in retention pond has died

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. — UPDATE: A woman that was pulled from a van in a retention pond by first responders on Monday has passed away, according to Broken Arrow police.

Police say the woman died shortly after she arrived at a local hospital.

The identity of the woman has not been announced.

A woman was pulled from a van in a pond by first responders Monday, according to the Broken Arrow Police Department.

Police say they received a call around 11:35 a.m. that a vehicle drove into a retention pond at the Events Complex near East 101st Street and Creek Turnpike.

The Broken Arrow Fire Department and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol's divers eventually pulled a woman and the van out of the pond, police said.

Officials say the woman was rushed to the hospital, but her condition is unknown.
