TULSA -- A bald eagle rescued in downtown Tulsa was released into the wild Sunday morning by the Tulsa Zoo.
Experts say the bird suffered from muscle damage after it flew into a structure.
The Tulsa police officer who contacted the zoo about the injured eagle, J.D Pyatt, released the bird back into the wild.
"If she does have a hurt wing, you don't want to injure her any more. She's so big she has the capability to really hurt you. Luckily we had Dr. Backues there from the zoo. She is the one who basically took over the reins and we got her with a towel and a blanket and then took her to the zoo."
The eagle was released around 7 a.m. Sunday near the Arkansas River.
