Outgoing Bacone College President Frank Willis confirms with 2 Works For You the school will be suspending operations up to two weeks.

Willis said more than 30 staff and faculty were laid off last week and up to 90 could lose their jobs once the campus is closed.

Willis said the goal of the new and incoming president is to secure new funding, so the school can operate classes in the Summer and Fall semesters.

Students will not be able to apply for a summer housing waiver to stay on campus because of the suspension Willis said. Undergrads are moving out this Friday and Seniors will have to leave by Saturday after graduation.

Willis said the school is facing up to a $2-million deficit from lack of student tuition payment.
