TULSA – There are several questions left unanswered after a baby was found unresponsive in west Tulsa leaving the woman who helped care for the child devastated and stunned.
The babysitter for 2-month-old Chloe said she was with the baby just hours before police found her unresponsive.
She says nothing seemed out of the ordinary Monday night, saying that Chloe was cheerful and happy. She also noted that Chloe’s mother was hardworking and loving with her two children.
Around 9:30 p.m. baby Chloe not breathing and in the care of her father, Joseph Bunnell, at the Ashford Overlook Apartments. Officers questioned Bunnell and eventually arrested him for child abuse and child neglect.
Several bruises were located on Chloe’s body that didn’t match with Bunnell’s account, which was that Chloe fell off the couch and went into cardiac arrest.
"When he left with her she didn't have any bruises, scratches, anything like that. She was alert, she was just a little baby."
The Child Crisis Unit is overseeing the investigation, which is currently awaiting the medical examiner’s report.
Depending on the investigation could go to Tulsa police to be investigated as a homicide.
