BROKEN ARROW — A Broken Arrow man is behind bars and charged with four counts of child sexual abuse and possession of child pornography.

Court records stated the victim told relatives that the suspect, Christopher Allen Starkey, began sexually abusing her when she was 9-years-old, which was approximately six years ago.

Family members told investigators that Starkey threatened the victim when he found out she had a boyfriend, controlled her every movement and damaged a promise ring he had given the victim with a wrench, court records said.

When officers came to the residence to investigate an incident back in June 2018, a family member gave police a computer and phone, court records said.

The affidavit stated investigators later found sexually explicit pictures and texts between Starkey and the victim on the phone and computer.

The affidavit said a family member gave police items Starkey had given the victim - the damaged promise ring, underwear, and a flower with a note.

Investigators sent the underwear to OSBI, which confirmed to have Starkey's DNA on them, the affidavit said.

Starkey was booked into the Tulsa County Jail, his bond set at $250,0000 and he's due in court on April 24, jail records said.
