Authorities are searching for a suspect in connection to a fatal hit and run accident that occurred Tuesday in McAlester.

Officials say, Curtis Wayne Johnson, 34, was walking southbound on East Service Road, just south of the Choctaw Travel Plaza, when he was struck by a white delivery or transit van, which was also traveling southbound.

The suspect did not stop to render aid and continued driving, authorities said.

Officials said the suspect did pull into a nearby motel, but left and continued driving on Highway 69.

Johnson was found by an off-duty Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper, and later died at a local hospital, officials said.

Authorities said they have located video of the suspect driving on Frink Road, just south of Highway 69.

Investigators are asking residents who live on Frink Road who may have received packages or deliveries between 6-7 p.m. Tuesday at their residence or business and have video surveillance that could be useful to help identify the suspect, to contact them at 405-425-2323.
