BROKEN ARROW, Okla. – The man accused in a vehicle theft that turned deadly has been identified.

Jesse Honeycutt, 25, is said to be the suspect involved in a fatal crash that began as a car theft.

Broken Arrow police say they responded to reports of a vehicle theft at QuikTrip located at 1820 South Aspen Ave. around midnight.

When they arrived a woman reported that her 2015 Infinity was stolen. Police say a witness observed a male getting into the unlocked car and driving away.

Officers were later called to a car crash at 1300 East New Orleans Street. When they arrived, the car was identified as the stolen 2015 Infinity.

Police say Honeycutt was traveling eastbound on New Orleans Street in the right turn lane coming towards 9th Street when he struck the curb, went left of center leaving the roadway and then rolled several times.
