A man is recovering from gunshots wounds sustained when he broke into the home of Erin Oquin, who is an assistant district attorney for Rogers, Mayes and Craig counties and a former county special judge.

Oquin shot the suspect, Bryan Starkey, 24, in the neck and he then fled her home and drove away. Witnesses say they saw him throwing items from his vehicle and later Rogers County Sheriff’s Office were able to identify the objects as Oquin’s belongings.

"You just hear him [deputy] saying things like, 'let me see your hands, don’t move.' 'Are you shot, are you wounded?' the man answered he was, and you could tell he was in a lot of pain," said Adam Clark, witness.

Authorities were able to arrest the suspect when he came to a dead end. He was then transported to a nearby hospital; his condition is currently unknown.

Rogers County Sheriff Scott Walton says it is possible Starkey hit other houses as well.
