Armed robbery at South Tulsa gas station

Tulsa Police responded to the area of 51st and Memorial for reports of an armed robbery at a gas station in the area.

Reports of the suspect entering the store wielding an axe handle and demanding money from the register.

The suspect then started breaking things inside the store as he became impatient with the employees.

A security guard attempted to stop the suspect by spraying him with Mace, the suspect then hit the security guard with the axe handle injuring her elbow.

The suspect went behind the counter and began banging on the cash register to get it open, the suspect then took the whole register and left the store on foot.

Officers are still trying to locate the suspect, the security guard was transported to St. Francis.
