TULSA, Okla. — American Airlines is notifying 25,000 employees across the country of future potential layoffs.
So far, the impact to Tulsa is unknown.
Here is the release from American Airlines:
Dale Danker is the president of the Transport Workers Union 514 that represents American maintenance workers in Tulsa.
“It's just a heck of a risk to leave a company you've been at for a long time when you know the ones that are senior employees," Danker said. "American didn't appear to be going completely out of business, things might get a lot worse before they get better but if you're a senior employee. You know that you could just keep coming to work and have the active insurance, which is what you're used to. So, it's a tough question for people to have to go try to figure out."
