TULSA – Allegiant Airlines announced a new non-stop destination Tuesday.
Tulsans can now travel straight from Green Country to New Orleans airport, the Louis Armstrong International Airport. Allegiant announced this week that they are going to add the flight as part of its summer travel season campaign.
Tulsa airport Director Jeff Mulder said in a statement that Tulsa has many ties to the Gulf region. He said nonstop service means what was a 12 to 14 hour road trip can instead now be a two hour flight.
According to Allegiant, the flight will be offered from May 26 to Oct 16, 2016.
The airline says direct flights will run twice per week.
