All lanes now open on 51st between Sheridan and Memorial for City project

Posted

TULSA--The City of Tulsa reports that all lanes of traffic have been opened on East 51st Street between South Sheridan Road and South Memorial Drive, as a street rehabilitation project reaches completion on schedule.

Permanent striping remains to be added in the next couple of weeks, and periodic lane closures may be necessary during that process.

The project consisted of milling, or removing the old asphalt surface, patching the concrete underneath, and paving with three inches of new asphalt. Also as part of the project, storm sewers were replaced, along with sidewalks as needed.

The City of Tulsa has contracted with Becco Contractors Inc. for this $943,000 project, funded by the 2014 General Obligation Bond (Improve Our Tulsa). Construction began in September 2017.
