Airport sees increase in traffic for Spring Break

TULSA — Tulsa International Airport is expecting a Spring Break boost in travelers this week.

And airport officials are advising travelers get there a little bit earlier to catch their flight.

Currently there are no delays or cancellations for families leaving on their Spring Break getaway.

But the security checkpoint has been long at times, as this is the busiest time of day here at the airport.

If you're one of those lucky people, you'll want to make sure you arrive two hours before your flight.

Otherwise, give yourself about 90 minutes before your departure time.

Last month-- airport officials reported it was the busiest year in a decade and big things continue to happen at the airport.

Officials announced that next month, you'll be able to fly nonstop to Los Angeles from Tulsa with American Airlines.

In June, Allegiant Airlines is also adding a new nonstop flight to Destin, Florida.

If you're flying to your destination, check your flight on your phone to make sure it still on time, or if there have been any changes.

Most airlines have an app to find this information and you can even check in online.
