Gas prices jump above $2 mark

Posted

After two weeks of gas prices sitting below $2, the price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline is now more than $2.

The spike in prices has Tulsa's average gas price at $2.04, according to gas price tracking website GasBuddy.com.

Two weeks ago, gas dropped below $2, giving most consumers a reason to smile. Prices fell to as low as $1.89 at some area stations.

Now, though, prices are trending up, according to GasBuddy.

Oklahoma's statewide average is now $2.06, and according to AAA's Fuel Gauge Report, the nationwide average is $2.28.

If the jump in prices has you down, consider this: Tulsans paid an average of $3.05 one year ago.
