TULSA – Some of the old gang is coming back into town to help raise money in order to protect what many feel is a Tulsa cinematic landmark.

The Venue Shrine is going to host a fundraiser to save the house used in the film “The Outsiders.” It will be held August 6 at IDL Ballroom in downtown Tulsa.
The event is intended to raise additional funds to transform the house located at 731 North St. Louis into a museum and homage to the late 1983 movie starring Ralph Macchio, Matt Dillon, Patrick Swayze, Rob Lowe, Darren Dalton, Tom Cruise and C. Thomas Howell.
Speaking of the actors who starred in the movie, some are reportedly going to attend the fundraiser event. Those included will be C. Thomas Howell (Ponyboy) and Darren Dalton (Randy).
Danny O’Connor from the band House of Pain who has played an integral part in the restoration and the preservation of the iconic home will be at the event as well.
During the event, guests will have the chance to meet the celebrities, check out a car show, eat at local food trucks and enjoy local music from bands such as the Larry Arnett Band, Swan Lake Gentlemen’s Society and Crazy Horse.
