TULSA — After 34 years, a program that helped drivers get back home safely is no longer being offered.
AAA Oklahoma says they've discontinued the Tipsy Tow program.
Over the holidays, a driver who had too much to drink could call a wrecker, who would offer a ride home, along with towing the vehicle.
A spokesman tells us new ways of getting around led to pulling tipsy tow.
"One of the reasons the program shutdown is because of the popularity of rideshare services like Lyft and Uber," AAA spokesperson Mark Madeja said. "People love the service and we love to see them use it."
AAA officials say before you go out to a party, you should have a plan on how to get home safely.
