A woman in her 90s, her daughter and three grandchildren escaped a house fire in east Tulsa Wednesday morning.

Tulsa firefighters say the smoke detectors alerted the family while they were sleeping.

When they arrived, the family was already outside, and they could see heavy smoke coming from the front of the house.

They quickly set up a perimeter, searched the house and put out the fire in minutes.

At this time, firefighters believe the cause of the fire was electrical.

The Red Cross was called to help aid the family after this loss.
