Tulsa police are searching for a driver who eluded officers during a traffic stop and led them on a chase across town.

Around 12:30 a.m. an officer attempted to stop the driver in a red pickup truck for an expired tag near North Sheridan Road, but he sped off.

The driver led police down Highway 75 near 36th Street North to the Broken Arrow Expressway and then made his way back north on surface roads.

A train in the area slowed the officers down allowing the suspect to gain ground on them.

After several minutes of the pursuit, it ended on North Winston Avenue and East Jasper Street.

Officers found the suspect's truck parked in the neighborhood, but the suspect had already escaped.

During the pursuit officers used spike strips to try and stop the driver, but he never slowed down even after the drivers' side tire was spiked.
