Kay County Sheriff, Steve Kelley, has confirmed that a small passenger plane has crashed near U Street just North of Hubbard Street.
The small-engine plane took off from Ponca City Regional Airport in Ponca City, OK. The aircraft was destroyed by a post-crash fire.
According to a FAA Spokesman there were at least 6 people on board.
The FAA and NTSB will investigate with the NTSB leading the investigation.
OHP has confirmed 5 dead, three adults and two children, from the crash.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
