BA homeowners recover after large grassfire

Posted

Shannon Lowe said it's a miracle her home and nine others on her street didn't burn in a large grassfire on February 8.

The grass has regrown, although there are still remnants from the fire outside.

Tire marks were left behind by the fire trucks that responded to the call that day.

Some of the trees in her backyard are brown from the fire, and Lowe's family keeps finding charred items in every corner.

She said she feels lucky despite her children's trampoline that melted, a tree that was engulfed in flames, and her garden bed that was destroyed.

Unlike some of her neighbors, Lowe didn't have to file any insurance claims to repair her damage.
