The Tulsa Police Child Crisis Unit is investigating an alleged child abuse case after an 8-month-old boy was taken to a Tulsa hospital with serious head trauma.

Officers say the child's mother's boyfriend, Ganey Fairley, was arrested on complaints of child abuse and child neglect.

Police say the victim's mother left Fairley alone with the victim and a 2-year-old boy at an apartment complex near 68th and Yale.

When she returned home from work, police say the mother found Fairley holding the victim who was limp and unresponsive.

The child was taken to the hospital where he was admitted to the PICU in very critical condition. Police say physicians found injuries on the child that were consistent with abuse.

Police say Fairley told the mother and officers that he tripped while carrying the victim and the victim hit his head on the floor.

They say the child has little chance of survival.
