The house used in the filming of the movie, directed by Francis Ford Coppola, was purchased by Danny Boy O'Connor in April of this year.
Since then, construction and restoration efforts have been in full force to make the house an homage to the novel and book.
In August, hundreds of Tulsans gathered at the IDL Ballroom in downtown for a fundraising event. Actors from the movie, including C. Thomas Howell and Darren Dalton, stopped by 2 Works for You to talk about the event.
Tulsa city councilors unveiled two street signs dedicated to "The Outsiders’" house at 731 North Street Louis Avenue but they were later stolen. Thanks to a watchful neighbor, museum employees were able to track down the thieves and recover the stolen signs.
