TULSA - The City Year Tulsa organization held its opening day at Tulsa Community College's Metro Campus.
They have 50 AmeriCorps members who will volunteer at six Tulsa Public Schools for one year.
The group took a pledge Friday morning to help local students.
Dr. Tom McKeon, the Executive Director of City Year Tulsa, hopes these students learn leadership skills during the year they are here.
The members are between 18 to 24 years old, and they will be mentoring students from the third to ninth grade.
City Year Tulsa started in 2013.
