TULSA - Twenty-six dogs are looking for new homes after being rescued from a residence in Tulsa County Tuesday.

According to the Humane Society of Tulsa, these dogs were relinquished voluntarily by their owner who was attempting to operate a dog rescue.

Among the breeds are pit bulls, boxers and shepherds. The Humane Society says many of the pets have special needs ranging from an amputated limb, heartworm, old age and even possibly needing rehabilitation after being shot.

Now, the Humane Society says they are waving the adoption fee for the rescued dogs. Those interested can apply to adopt at the Humane Society of Tulsa Adoption Center, which is located at 6232 E. 60th Street. Extended hours will be offered until 7 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Anyone interested in making a donation to help the Humane Society cover additional medical costs for the rescued dogs can click here.

They are also asking for the following supplies to help in taking care of these dogs.

• Flea & Tick Treatment
• Large Dog Beds
• Fleece Blankets
• Bath Towels
• Large Dog Collars
• Large Dog Toys
