TULSA, Okla. — More than 6,400 people visited the Gilcrease Museum in six days to see one document - a handwritten copy of the Declaration of Independence.
That's three times more than the average visits the museum had last year during the same time frame.
What visitors don't see is what goes on behind the scenes at the museum's Helmerich Research Center where they preserve this document and thousands more to ensure their lifespan.
