Both the Tulsa Police Department and Oklahoma Highway Patrol have a D-U-I checkpoint going on right now in Tulsa.

They are looking for drivers who may be under the influence of drugs and or alcohol.

Being convicted of a D-U-I will cost you not only jail time but also some hefty fines.

Authorities urge you to find a sober ride home.

 

The Tulsa Police are investigating a deadly accident that occurred early this morning.

The driver, who they believe to be intoxicated, hit a cyclist near 21st and Southwest Boulevard.

The cyclist succumbed to their injuries and passed away at the hospital.

The driver wasn't seriously hurt, and investigators say there was also a passenger in the car at the time who fled the scene.

The name of the victim hasn't been released.

 

The Tulsa World reports marijuana activist are trying to push a ballot measure supporting the drug.

This would classify marijuana as a "Herbal Drug" and amend The Constitution.

The other would say anyone older than 21 could have and use up to two ounces of marijuana for personal use.

This happens days after Oklahoma voters approved medical marijuana in the state.

 

A deputy tried to pull over a car that was flagged as stolen. This happened near 17th and Southwest Boulevard before 2:00 a.m.

Deputies say the driver and a passenger didn't stop and eventually ran way near Union and Brady.

One of the suspects has been found while Tulsa Police are helping track a second person.
