MUSKOGEE COUNTY -- Two women were in critical condition after being involved in a Muskogee Police pursuit that ended in a head-on crash just before midnight Tuesday.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported that the driver of the car being chased, Christa Brewer, 29,  gave Muskogee Police a false name when she was stopped and then she took off, trying to flee from them.

Brewer's vehicle collided head-on with another vehicle near Hancock Road and Highway 69 in Muskogee after the car crossed an intersection and veered left, according to the OHP report.

The passenger in Brewer's car, Tanisha Barber, 36, Muskogee, also was critically injured. Neither she nor Brewer were wearing seat belts, according to troopers.

Both driver and passenger of the second vehicle were uninjured, and were wearing seat belts.
