ROGERS COUNTY, Okla. -- Two people were arrested after a man was accused of beating his step son with a wooden paddle.
Law enforcement officials responded to a Claremore elementary school on Tuesday morning in regards to a possible child abuse.
A nine-year-old student said his step father had beaten him with a wooden paddle and kicked and punched him. A teacher said the young boy was shaking and very pale.
The boy had bruises and scratches on his wrist and rib cage and "significant injuries" to his buttocks, thighs and an arm, according to court documents.
The boy's step father, John Forrester, was arrested on a count of child abuse and the boy's mother, Brittney Barneck was arrested on a count of enabling child abuse.
Court documents said that the mother told the child to not tell anyone about the alleged beating.
